Query Explanation

The rule calculates the per‑second rate of the counter otelcol_exporter_send_failed_spans over the last 5 minutes and fires when that rate is greater than 0. In other words, if any OpenTelemetry Collector exporter has recorded at least one failed span send in the past 5 minutes, the alert triggers.
